Girls Football Cup 2009

The girls football cup took place on Thursday 2nd July at Maiden Castle.  12 teams took part in the cup, and some great games were seen.  Special guest Helen Alderson, who plays in goal for Sunderland Ladies and England U23's, enjoyed watching the girls play and giving them some encouragement.  She presented the prizes and had her photo taken with the winners!  Well done to all of the teams taking part!

The final of the cup was played between St Michaels and Bluecoat A, and after a 1-1 draw in the game St.Michaels took the cup on penalties!

In the final for the shield, Finchale took on Bluecoat B with a similar result.  After a 1-1 draw Finchale stole the show on penalties!
