What Is Your School Doing For National School Sports Week?
May 6th, 2010
St.Benets Primary School in Ouston are getting ready for a “Jam Packed “ week of sporting activities to mark “National School Sports Week”. They have a wide range of activities planned for the whole school including their very own Dance Festival where each class will perform a routine and invite their parents along to support them. Freddy Fit will be in school for a day putting the children through their paces with fun, exciting exercise routines and circuits. A local Community Coach will be on hand to lead a Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 session in Circuit training, working on the children’s strength and stamina.
Mrs Clough has taken advantage of the free British Heart Foundation Dodgeball pack and will run a Dodgeball tournament using the free resource pack and equipment. Finally the whole school will gather together to bring this exciting, fun packed week of sporting activities to a close with a school Ceilidh which they have previously ran in school with great success and enthusiasm from all the children involved.
They will link other curriculum subjects with Sport and P.E by researching Countries taking part in the 2010 World Cup later this year, with each class presenting their findings to the rest of the school.
A big “WELL DONE” to Mrs Clough and everyone else involved in planning these fantastic events and activities. Keep up the good work!
